Everything you need to know about Kailan - the lightweight consensus tool for teams.
Kailan is a peer document circulation tool that lets you share a document, collect team responses (Agree, Pass, or Question), and export a PDF summary.
Ever been in this situation?
Kailan is a lightweight consensus tool. When you need team buy-in but not formal approval—share a document, collect Agree/Pass/Question responses, get a PDF summary. No heavy approval flows, just quick feedback.
Use Kailan when you need confirmation but not approval:
You want team feedback before launching
You need to confirm everyone read it
You need a record of responses
Anywhere you need to know “did everyone see this?” and “what do they think?”
Kailan specializes in lightweight consensus, not heavyweight approvals.
Kailan is for flat-moving teams:
Teams where “let's decide together” beats “wait for the boss.”
Yes. During early access, all features are free.
We're building with user feedback and designing paid plans. Early users will get special benefits when we launch pricing.
Core features will stay free, with paid plans for power users and teams.
Simplicity speeds consensus. Too many options slow decisions.
Decide in 3 seconds, but your voice is heard. We prioritize fast consensus over perfect consensus.
Pass means “not involved,” not “opposed.”
Use it when:
If you disagree, choose Question and explain why.
Pass represents Kailan's philosophy: not everyone needs to weigh in on everything.
DocuSign is for legally binding signatures — formal, heavyweight, and designed for contracts. Google Forms collects survey responses but doesn't track who hasn't responded yet.
Kailan sits between them: it tracks who reviewed a document and what they think (Agree, Pass, or Question), then exports a PDF summary as proof. No legal weight, but clear accountability.
Upload your document to Kailan, share a link with your team, and see exactly who opened it and how they responded — in real time.
When the deadline closes, you get a PDF report showing every response with timestamps. No more “I didn't see it” excuses.
Kailan uses Google OAuth for authentication — we never see or store your password. Uploaded files and responses are automatically deleted after the retention period (7 days on the free tier).
Before deletion, a PDF summary is emailed to the creator. All traffic is encrypted via HTTPS.
For open access Kailans, responders just need a Google account to sign in — no separate registration required.
For password-protected Kailans, responders enter the password and can optionally provide a nickname.
Creating a Kailan (as the sender) always requires Google sign-in.
